Brake pads replacement method
 As the saying goes, "If a worker wants to be good at his work, he must first sharpen his tools." To save the maintenance cost of replacing brake pads, we must prepare a set of suitable tools. To replace the brake pads we will use a jack, a suitable socket wrench, ring wrench, screwdriver, sandpaper, grease, etc. Some tools and vehicles are generally equipped, such as jacks and cross sockets for removing tires; while some need to be purchased by themselves.  All tools and brake pad parts can be purchased online.
 Gather all the tools and parts, we can start to replace the brake pads. We can loosen the fastening bolts of all the wheels by half a turn, without completely unscrewing them. Before the vehicle is lifted, it is easier to loosen the wheel bolts by using the friction between the tires and the ground, which is why we do this as the first step.
 In the second step, we use a jack to jack up one side of the vehicle at the vehicle's lift position. The vehicle lift position is the part of the body dedicated to lifting the vehicle, usually on the body "beam" behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels.  There is generally a palm-sized raised rubber pad at the lifting position of the vehicle, which can be easily touched by hand.  We only need to lift the vehicle until the wheel that needs to be replaced is slightly off the ground.  We can then unscrew all the wheel bolts and remove the wheel.  Some vehicles using aluminum alloy rims, due to the unique wheel structure, make the wheels still stuck on the swing bearings of the wheels after the bolts are removed.  If you encounter the above situation, we can try to push the upper edge of the tire sidewall with our feet or use our hands to pat the front and rear edges of the tire sidewall hard inwards, which will help the tire to come out.
 The removed wheels are placed under the brake discs to prevent the hydraulic jack from depressurizing and causing the vehicle to fall down and cause casualties.
The brake cylinder of the disc brake used in general vehicles is fastened on the cylinder bracket by two bolts, and the cylinder bracket is fastened on the swing bearing by two bolts. To replace the brake pads, we only need to remove the two bolts that fasten the brake cylinder. Once the two bolts are loosened, we can remove the brake cylinder.  Since there is a soft hydraulic pipeline on the brake cylinder, be careful not to pull it too hard, just put it on the front axle suspension next to it.
Next, we need to grind the brake pads and chamfer the edge of the brake pads on the contact side of the brake disc.  In the maintenance operation where only the brake pads are replaced but not the brake discs, if the brake pads are not polished, abnormal brake noise will occur. This is because there will be a groove on the old brake disc, which is the wear and tear caused by the old brake pads on the brake disc; the old brake disc with new flat brake pads will produce abnormal noise because the friction surface is too small.  When replacing the brake pads and brake discs at the same time, we don't need to grind the chamfers, just install them directly.
 We need to apply some lubricating grease on the two raised parts of the polished brake pads, in order to reduce the abnormal noise caused by the knocking of the new brake pads and the cylinder bracket.
Before installing the brake pads, we need to push the protruding piston of the brake cylinder inward, so that the thicker new brake pads can be installed.  In order to prevent the brake oil from overflowing when the piston is pushed in, it is recommended to drain part of the brake oil from the brake oil pot, replace the brake pads, and then re-add an appropriate amount of brake fluid according to the liquid level of the oil pot.  It should be noted here that different types of brake fluid cannot be mixed, so it is best for the owner to add the corresponding brake fluid when adding.
 Next, we put the brake pads on the sub-cylinder bracket first, and note that the inner and outer brake pads cannot be interchanged. Then, we can snap the brake cylinder to the cylinder bracket.
 Finally, screw on the brake cylinder bolts and tighten with a torque wrench.  Generally speaking, the fastening torque of the brake cylinder bolts is 20-30 Nm. For specific parameters, please refer to the maintenance manual of the relevant model.  After the brake pads are installed, the wheels can be installed. Remember to tighten the wheel bolts after the wheels are installed. The standard tightening torque of the wheel bolts is 110-140 Nm. For specific parameters, please refer to the maintenance manual of the relevant model.  Replacing the brake pads of the rear wheels is very similar to that of the front wheels, and will not be described in detail here.
